Tips and Tricks
-
This class is 99% memorization. It's dozens of learning outcomes and hundreds of studies, each with their own very specific evaluations. Try writing out your notes several times, reviewing constantly the days leading up to the test, and locking yourself in your bedroom the weekend before, yes, the entire weekend.
-
During the presentation, take notes. You need to be an active listener if you want them to have any effect. I didn't I basically took a two-day crash course every unit the weekend before the test.
-
Clearly define the type of experiment the study is. Once you have a list of all the types in the unit, write down a list of the strengths of weaknesses for each type.
-
Breakdown each evaluation into two parts: those that are common to the type(s) of the experiment and those that are unique to the experiment specifically.
-
Write down a list of every learning outcome in the unit, the studies you will use for it, a quick description of each part of the Learning Outcome and the terms it uses, and a quick description of each study.
-
Take the first-semester exam. It's a pain, but you'll be thankful you had the mid-course review.
